About This Course
BUSINESS REPORT: A CRITICAL EVALUATION OF MANAGEMENT PRACTICE AT NETFLIX
You are required to produce a business report based on a critical evaluation of current management practice at Netflix.
You will need to use your knowledge of the management competencies (ie: evidence-based theories and concepts) covered in this module and demonstrate your ability to apply these to the Netflix’s current business context.
Your report should be based on the following tasks:
Brief Introduction (6 Marks)
Provide a brief definition of good management practice, an overview of the purpose of your business report and an indication of the contents.
Task 1 – Management Practice at Netflix (15 Marks)
Identify Netflix’s Mission; Values and preferred style of management practice and critically assess the extent to which all three of these elements are aligned.
Support your arguments with reference to appropriate academic literature, case study materials and your independent research.
Task 2 – Key Business Challenge for Netflix (15 Marks)
Reflect on the ‘Battle of the Streaming Giants’ contained within the case study materials. How will the following management competencies and the manner in which management is practiced at Netflix enable it’s managers to deal with this challenge.

Task 4 – The Alignment of Netflix Values and Management Practice (35 Marks)
Review Netflix’s ‘Real Values” and critically assess the extent to which they reflect the following management competencies:
